Lauren DeAngelis enters her 11th year coaching cross country and 8th year coaching at York. Coach DeAngelis started coaching cross country and distance track at Lake Park High School in 2010. During her 3 years at Lake Park High School, her and her staff lead the 2012 3A Girls Cross Country team to a state runner up finish. 2010 – 2011 qualifiers in 3200, 800, 1600. During the 2011 - 2012 track season, Coach DeAngelis and staff assisted athletes in qualifying for the state meet in the 4X800, 1600 and had the 3200 3A state champion. During 2012-2013 year qualifiers in 1600, 3200. Since coming to York High School she has worked to maintain the reputation of the Lady Dukes as being one of the premier programs in the state qualifying each year for the 3A state meet. During the 2020-2021 Cross Country Season the York Girls Team was undefeated, WSC Silver Division Champions, 3A IHSA Proviso West Regional Champions, 3A IHSA LT Sectional Champions, and the 2020 Shazam State Champions. The Lady Dukes placed 5 girls in the top 25 at the Shazam State series and had all 5 members break 18:00 during the 2020 season. Personal When Coach DeAngelis is not leading the PE/Health/Driver Education Department at York or coaching, she enjoys being active and spending time with her family. She resides in Wheaton with her husband Frank, 6-year-old daughter Hayden and 11lb havanese day Gizmo.
